JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Two more BlueClaws have completed the journey From the Shore, to the Show, as 2017 teammates JoJo Romero and Sixto Sanchez made their big league debuts over the weekend. They are the 101st and 102nd former BlueClaws to appear in a big league game, and sixth and seventh to debut in 2020.

Romero made his debut with the Phillies on Friday night, throwing a scoreless inning with three strikeouts against the Braves.

He made 13 starts with the BlueClaws in 2017, going 5-1 with a 2.11 ERA and earning a spot in the SAL All-Star Game.

Sanchez made his debut with the Marlins on Saturday night, earning the win after allowing three runs in five innings with four strikeouts against the Nationals.

He went 5-3 with a 2.41 ERA with the BlueClaws over 13 starts as an 18-year old in 2017. He was traded to the Marlins as part of the deal that brought JT Realmuto to Philadelphia prior to the 2019 season.

Ironically, Romero and Sanchez started games one and two, respectively, for the BlueClaws in 2017 on April 6th and 7th. They then made their big league debuts 24 hours apart in 2020!

They are the third and fourth members of the 2017 BlueClaws to reach the big leagues, joining pitcher Ranger Suarez (who started the third game of that season) and outfielder Adam Haseley. Additionally, pitching coach Brian Sweeney is now the bullpen coach for the Cleveland Indians.

Seven former BlueClaws have now made big league debuts this year - pitcher Ramon Rosso (Phillies), pitcher Franklyn Kilome (Mets), pitcher Spencer Howard (Phillies), third baseman Alec Bohm (Phillies), pitcher Connor Brogdon (Phillies), Romero (Phillies), and Sanchez (Marlins).
