Claws Drop 5-2 Game to Brooklyn in Sunday Series Finale

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Five Brooklyn pitchers held the BlueClaws to two runs on five hits and Stanley Consuegra had two hits as Brooklyn topped the BlueClaws 5-2 on Sunday at ShoreTown Ballpark.

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Five Brooklyn pitchers held the BlueClaws to two runs on five hits and Stanley Consuegra had two hits as Brooklyn topped the BlueClaws 5-2 on Sunday at ShoreTown Ballpark.

The teams split their six game series with Brooklyn taking the final two after the BlueClaws won three of the first four.

The BlueClaws got on the board in the first inning on an RBI single from Jordan Dissin. Brooklyn tied the game in the top of the third on a Dissin passed ball.

Jersey Shore starter Braeden Fausnaught came out after four innings, allowing one unearned run while striking out five.

Brooklyn scored three times in the top of the fifth inning to take the lead. Alex Rao walked two before an RBI single from Stanley Consuegra. Another run scored on a passed ball with the third on a SAC fly from Nick Lorusso to give Brooklyn a 4-1 lead.

The BlueClaws got a run back in the sixth on an RBI double by Erick Brito.

Brooklyn though added a ninth inning run off Gunner Mayer on a SAC fly from William Lugo.

Ben Simon (2-1) earned the win, allowing one run in three innings. Joshua Cornielly threw a scoreless ninth to earn the save.

Dissin had two hits for the BlueClaws, his first two-hit game of the year.

The BlueClaws are off on Monday and open a series at Aberdeen on Tuesday night at 7:05 pm. They return home to take on Bowling Green on Tuesday, April 30th at 6:35 pm.
