BlueClaws Roll to 8-1 Sunday Win Over Wilmington

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Herbert Iser drove in three as the BlueClaws scored six in the sixth inning and topped Wilmington 8-1 on Sunday at FirstEnergy Park.

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Herbert Iser drove in three as the BlueClaws scored six in the sixth inning and topped Wilmington 8-1 on Sunday at FirstEnergy Park.

The BlueClaws had dropped three straight prior to Sunday's win, putting them at 15-19 on the year while the Blue Rocks fall to 18-16.

The BlueClaws blew open a 1-1 game with five runs in the sixth inning. Jonathan Guzman's bases loaded walk broke a 1-1 tie. After a run scored on an error, Herbert Iser's two-run double made it 5-1 and Hunter Markwardt added an RBi single to put the BlueClaws up 6-1.

All six runs were charged to Andrew Karp (0-1), though only two were earned because of pair of Blue Rocks errors.

Jersey Shore added a run in the seventh on Iser's RBI single. The catcher from Dallas Baptist drove in three in the game.

Logan O'Hoppe had two hits and an RBI for the BlueClaws while also throwing out an attempted base stealer.

Starter Jonathan Hughes gave up one run over 4.2 innings for the BlueClaws, striking out three.
