Renegades Take Series Finale 5-2 on Sunday in ShoreTown

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Blane Abeyta gave up one run over six innings and Hudson Valley used a four run fourth inning in a 5-2 win over the BlueClaws on Sunday at ShoreTown Ballpark.

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Blane Abeyta gave up one run over six innings and Hudson Valley used a four run fourth inning in a 5-2 win over the BlueClaws on Sunday at ShoreTown Ballpark.

Jersey Shore (14-24/37-65) dropped four of six from the Renegades (20-15/54-47) despite sweeping a double-header on Friday.

Tyler Hardman's RBI single in the first inning opened the scoring off Jersey Shore starter Scott Moss.

The Renegades added four more runs in the fourth inning. RJ Rumfield's RBI single made it 2-0 and Eduardo Torrealba smashed a two-run triple off JP Woodward for a 5-0 lead.

Meanwhile, the BlueClaws got just one run off Blane Abeyta, who gave up five hits over six innings while striking out two. Ethan Wilson's RBI single in the third was the lone BlueClaws run until a fielder's choice groundout by Casey Martin in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Marcus Lee Sang, who had four hits in the first game of the Saturday double-header, had two on Sunday in the loss.

Dominic Pipkin threw two scoreless innings in the, while Andrew Baker, Brett Schulze, and Cristian Hernandez each threw scoreless innings.

The BlueClaws head to Greensboro and open a six game series with the Grasshoppers on Tuesday.
