Renegades Walk to 11-7 Win Over BlueClaws on Thursday

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Hudson Valley drew 13 walks and scored the go-ahead run on a bases loaded walk in the eighth inning, topping the BlueClaws 11-7 on Thursday night at ShoreTown Ballpark.

Jersey Shore (10-23/35-64) has dropped 15 straight home games and four in a row overall. Hudson Valley (19-13/53-45).

The BlueClaws scored five times in the first inning on just two hits. Ethan Wilson opened the scoring with a two-runs ingle off starter Juan Carela. The BlueClaws added runs on a bases loaded walk to Baron Radcliff, an RBI single by Arturo De Freitas, and a wild pitch.

Hudson Valley got back in the game with three runs in the fifth on a home run by TJ Rumfield. JErsey Shore got a Baron Radcliff two run single to go back up by three, but the Renegades rallied from there.

Rodolfo Sanchez (0-1) came on in the eighth inning and faced five batters - a strikeout, hit batsman, and three straight walks, which tied the game. Jason Ruffcorn came on and walked James Nelson, which scored the go-ahead run.

In the ninth, two walks preceeded a three-run home run by Tyler Hardman, his 14th of the year, which gave the Renegades an 11-7 lead.

Ethan Wilson had three hits for the BlueClaws and drove in two. Hardman and Rumfield each had three hits for Hudson Valley.

The 13 walks issued by the BlueClaws were their most allowed in a game this season and the fourth time they've walked 10 or more in a game.

The teams continue their series on Friday night at 7:05 pm. RHP Mick Abel starts for the BlueClaws.
