The Lansing Lugnuts announced the following roster move today, in conjunction with the Oakland Athletics:

- Infielder/outfielder Jalen Greer received from Arizona Complex League Athletics

Jalen Greer, 20, was drafted in the fifth round in 2019 from St. Rita of Cascia High School by the Athletics, the same high school that produced New York Giants wide receiver Kenny Golladay. Greer, a Chicago native, served as a super-utilityman in the AzCL ,playing shortstop, third base, second base, center field, right field and left field, and slashing .259/.389/.333 in 36 games with five extra-base hits and four stolen bases.

He is the youngest player on the Lugnuts’ roster, the 859th player in team history, and the record-setting 55th different player used in 2021, the most players to suit up for Lansing in one season in franchise history.

The Lugnuts (56-61) play the fourth game in a six-game season-concluding series tonight against the West Michigan Whitecaps (57-60) at 7:05 p.m., with top pitching prospect Jeff Criswell on the bump at Jackson® Field™.
