LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville Bats (18-28) were defeated by the Indianapolis Indians (25-18) by an 8-7 score at Louisville Slugger Field. Brian O'Grady hit his sixth home run in the last four games in tonight's game.

For Indianapolis, Jason Martin started the game with a double. Back to back groundouts from the Indians scored Martin to put the Indians up 1-0 in the first. The Bats put their first runs on the board when Juan Graterol doubled off the wall scoring Brian O'Grady and Aristides Aquino. The Bats got their only lead of the game, 2-1.
The Indians came back to tie the game in the top of the third when a sac fly from Martin scored Nick Franklin who walked and moved to second on a sac bunt. They then redeemed the lead when Ke'Bryan Hayes hit a two-run shot and Kevin Kramer hit a solo shot of his own.
In the bottom half of the inning, Scott Schebler started the Bats off with a single and Rob Refsnyder doubled to score him. O'Grady followed with a home run to tie the game again at 5-5.
For the third time in the game, the Indians reclaimed the lead with a walk from Will Craig followed by a Kramer home run. Hayes walked with the bases loaded to put the Indians up 8-5. In the bottom half of the inning Louisville tacked on a run when Narciso Crook came in to pitch hit and singled to score Sherman Johnson.
In the bottom of the eighth the Bats tacked on a run when a Refsnyder single scored Blake Trahan. Neither team added runs in the ninth leaving the score at 8-7 to end the game.
Bats starting pitcher José López (2-3, 6.34) threw 5.0 innings, giving up six hits, eight runs, walking three and striking out two. Alex Powers made his Triple-A debut pitching an inning and striking out two. Indians starting pitcher Eduardo Vera (3-3, 5.69) got the win pitching 5.0 innings giving up five runs on six hits and striking out two.
Louisville stays at home to play the Toledo Mud Hens in the first game of the four-game series. First pitch set for Friday night at 7:00 p.m. at Louisville Slugger Field. Bats' righty Rob Wooten (0-0, 4.50) is set to face Mud Hens' lefty Ryan Carpenter (1-4, 4.15).
