Fightin Phils Announce Additions to Full Time Staff
(Reading, PA) - The Reading Fightin Phils, Double-A Affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, are excited to announce three additions to its full-time staff as the team begins preparations for the 2024 season. All three additions have previous experience with the Fightin Phils.
(Reading, PA) - The Reading Fightin Phils, Double-A Affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, are excited to announce three additions to its full-time staff as the team begins preparations for the 2024 season. All three additions have previous experience with the Fightin Phils.
Jake Starr joins the full-time staff as the Public Relations/Media Relations Manager, while also continuing his role as apart of the R-Phils broadcast team. Starr oversees the R-Phils Media Relations team and coordinates the organizations Public Relations efforts. During the season, he works to distribute information on the team, including game notes, stats, roster moves, along with telling the story of the team and organization via social media and various other outlets. Starr is from West Chester, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Rustin High School in 2018. He attended Penn State and graduated in 2022. Starr joined the Fightin Phils prior to the 2023 season and served in a similar role last season and will be entering his second season in 2024.
"I'm incredibly excited to continue with the Fightin Phils," Starr said. "Last year was everything I could have asked for and more. Getting to work with the team and front office has been awesome and I can't wait to continue to do so."
Alex Boldizar joins the full-time staff as the Video Productions Manager. Boldizar's role consists of producing video content for both in-stadium use and for the team's social media channels, along with the website. He also prepares, and oversees, the video and graphic content that is found on the team's video board during all home games. Boldizar oversees the video production team, who's role is to put on a live video broadcast of each Fightin Phils home game, which air both in-stadium and on MiLB TV. Boldizar is from Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Upper Perkiomen High School in 2019. He received an Associates Degree in Media Arts in 2022 and worked for Blue Ridge Communications while in college. Boldizar joined the Fightin Phils prior to the 2021 season. He served in a similar role during the 2023 season, and during the 2021 and '22 seasons, Boldizar worked as a part of the video production team.
"It was a real pleasure being a part of an amazing team that all has the same goal," Boldizar said. "I'm excited to be able to work with a great group for the upcoming season and beyond."
Nick Anthony joins the full-time staff in a Food and Beverage/Operations position. In his role, Anthony will work along side the operations team and the food and beverage team. During the season, Anthony's role will consist of getting the stadium ready on gamedays. That consists of making sure the concessions, bars and more are fully stocked for fans. He will also contribute to the operations department in helping fix and maintain America's Classic Ballpark on a daily basis. During the offseason, Anthony will also be a part of the R-Phils sales team, while also working to get the stadium ready for the 2024 season. Anthony is from Frackville, Pennsylvania, and graduated from North Schuylkill Jr/Sr High School. He attended and graduated from Penn State. Anthony began working with the Fightin Phils last January as a Food and Beverage/Operations Intern and will enter his second season in 2024.
The R-Phils strong internship program has resulted in many of our current full-time staff. 21 of the 24 front office staff members started their career as an R-Phils intern.
