(Reading, PA) – On Thursday, July 1, the Reading Fightin Phils will celebrate Military Appreciation Night at America’s Classic Ballpark when the team takes on the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays) at 7 p.m. Fans will have the opportunity to honor a special military member in their life by reserving a group outing that includes a personalized, game-worn jersey.

During the week of our nation’s 250th birthday, each Fightin Phils player will wear a custom jersey dedicated to a member of the United States military who has served or is currently serving. Players will receive a photo and bio of the military member they are representing prior to the game. Following the game, a special jersey ceremony will be held with the 25 military honorees or their families, courtesy of Savage 61 Auto Group. This exclusive opportunity is limited to 25 groups.

Fans are encouraged to bring a group of family and friends to honor a loved one who has served in the military. Groups that purchase 20 or more reserved seats or picnic area tickets for the July 1 game will receive a personalized jersey worn by a Fightin Phils player recognizing a veteran or active-duty service member at no additional charge. FirstEnergy Stadium, originally built as Reading Municipal Memorial Stadium in 1951, was named in honor of the servicemen and women who gave their lives for our country. In 1999, a statue in the form of giant dog tags was placed outside the stadium during a special rededication ceremony to further honor the area’s veterans.

To continue paying tribute to the sacrifices made by our veterans, the Fightin Phils fly a ceremonial flag at each home game to honor and share the story of a specific veteran. The flag flies near the giant dog tags at the stadium’s main entrance, thanks to Savage 61. Following the game, the flag is lowered and presented to the veteran’s family.

“FirstEnergy Stadium was built to honor the servicemen and women from our community who gave their lives for our country,” said Fightin Phils General Manager Scott Hunsicker. “America’s Classic Ballpark is not just a stadium—it’s a memorial. It is only fitting that those who have protected our freedom are remembered at every game.”

Fans interested in reserving a personalized jersey opportunity for the July 1 game should complete THIS FORM. A Reading Fightin Phils representative will contact each group to confirm the submission and coordinate the outing.

The Fightin Phils return to FirstEnergy Stadium to open the 2026 season on Tuesday, April 7 at 6:45 p.m., against the Hartford Yard Goats, Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. Single-game tickets are now on sale and can be purchased at rphils.com/tickets, by calling 610-370-BALL or in-person at the Customer's Bank Ticket Office.
