Logan O'Hoppe was named the Eastern League Player of the Week for his performance against the Somerset Patriots from May 17-22, 2022. He is the second R-Phils player to receive the award this season, after Jhailyn Ortiz took the honor last week.

O’Hoppe played in all six games on the road at TD Bank Ballpark in Somerset, New Jersey. He started an impressive hot streak the week before and rode it strong into last week. The 22-year-old hit five home runs in four games, including two in Tuesday’s contest. He also notched at least one hit in each game to reach a .550 batting average on the week. He totaled 11 hits and a team-high 8 runs batted in. O’Hoppe held a 1.990 OPS which combines his on-base percentage plus his slugging capabilities. He also recorded three walks and just two strikeouts the entire series. The Fightins starting catcher did not make an error last week and he did catch one runner stealing.

On the season, O’Hoppe is currently batting .304. He leads the team in hits (35), RBIs (23), runs scored (25), and is tied for the lead in home runs (8). He also has four stolen bases. In the Eastern League, he sits tenth in batting average, third in slugging (.582) and OPS (1.003), fourth in homers and sixth in OBP (.420). He’s also sixth in total bases (67) and seventh in runs scored.

The West Islip, NY native was drafted by Philadelphia in the 23rd round in 2018.O'Hoppe currently ranks fifth out of all Phillies prospects.
