(Reading, PA) - For the first time in 2024, the Reading Fightin Phils took the field in front of their home fans. Ultimately, the Portland Sea Dogs were victorious in the series, winning four-of-six games, but it was still a great first week back in Baseballtown. The week featured nail biting victories, the debut of new pinstripe jerseys and so much more.

Let's take a look back on the week that was at FirstEnergy Stadium in our first photo album of the season. All the photos come from our Fightin Phils photography team of George Youngs Jr. and Kyleigh Margerison.

Don't forget, the Fightin Phils return home next week, from Tuesday, April 23 through Sunday the 28th, and welcome the Somerset Patriots, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. Join in on the fun by getting tickets at rphils.com/tickets, by calling 610-370-BALL, or in-person at the Customers Bank Ticket Office.

As a part of the Opening Night ceremonies last Tuesday, the Fightin Phils entered the field from their brand-new clubhouses in the Redner's Event Center. They were led by their Manager Al Pedrique, who is returning to Reading for his second season as the skipper.

Following the team's introductions onto the field prior to Opening Night, Erich Cawalla of the Uptown Band performed the National Anthem.

Opening Night featured a crowd of 8,510 fans. It marked the largest crowd for a weeknight home opener in Reading Fightin Phils history.

On Wednesday night, Lachlan Wells earned his first win in affiliated professional baseball since 2019. Wells had been playing in Australia the last couple of years and signed with the Phillies after a spectacular winter season with the Adelaide Giants of the Australian Baseball League.

On Friday night, a double rainbow made an appearance over America's Classic Ballpark.

Prior to Sunday afternoon, children in attendance had the opportunity to meet and take pictures with the Fightin Phils mascots and various characters in Baseballtown.

The Reading Hot Dogs made their 2024 debut and Phillies No. 10 Prospect Gabriel Rincones Jr. launched his third home run of the season to left field.

The Fightin Phils debuted their brand-new Los Luchadores de Reading jerseys on the first Fiesta Friday of the season. Matt Osterberg got the start on Friday night and was strong over five innings of work.

Carson Taylor had a very-strong first impression in Baseballtown on Tuesday night. The first-year Fightin Phil launched two home runs in the R-Phils 9-8 win on Opening Night. The second of which was a three-run go-ahead home run, which proved to be the eventual game winner.

Fans were excited to receive their Bryson Stott Playoff Grand Slam Bobbleheads (with walkup music!) on Opening Night.

Fightin Phils fans packed the newly-named Diamond Credit Union Plaza on Opening Night as The Uptown Band preformed a pregame concert from the Mitsubishi Chemical Group Stage.

Our youngest Fightin Phils fans are greeted by the famous Crazy Hot Dog Vendor.

Fightin Phils outfielder Marcus Lee Sang had an impressive start to the 2024 season, reaching base in the first eight games he played in.

It was a great first week in Baseballtown and we loved having our fantastic fans back at America's Classic Ballpark. We can't wait to see you when the Fightin Phils return home next week.

The Reading Fightin Phils return to FirstEnergy Stadium on Tuesday, April 23 against the Somerset Patriots (Yankees). The series features a Business Person Special presented by Stratix Systems on Wednesday with a 1:00 pm start. Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27 also feature the first Fireworks shows of the season following the game.
