Reading Fightin Phils Take on New Hampshire as Fisher Cats Come to Town

(Reading, PA)- The Reading Fightin Phils, Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, take on the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, for their first meeting of the 2025 season. Game one is set for Tuesday, May 13 at 12 p.m. and kicks off the six game series.

Wednesday, May 14 is an Education Game Day thanks to Baseballtown Charities and MLB Play Ball. Thursday, May 15 is Throwback Thursday with the Reading Phillies Throwback Thursday Uniforms sponsored by Berks Career and Technology Center and Renewal by Andersen of Central PA. Friday, May 16 is a post-game fireworks show put on by PA Virtual Charter School, Alvernia University and The Learning Experience Wyomissing. On Saturday, May 17, the first ever Post-Game Drone Show presented by Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center, Celebrating Nurses & Hospital Week takes place. Wrapping up the series on Sunday, May 18 is a belated Mother’s Day Celebration with the first 2,000 adult women receiving a Mother’s Day Hawaiian Shirt thanks to Reading Hospital McGlinn Cancer Institute.

The Fightin Phils are coming back from their series against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets. This is the second meeting between the two teams of the 2025 season. The Fightin Phils were home first when the Rumble Ponies took the series 4-2. Reading won two of the games against Binghamton during the most recent series as the Rumble Ponies took the second series 3-2, with one game cancelled due to weather. Trent Farquhar hit the first grand slam for the team this season during game three of the series. Hendry Mendez hit his first home run of the season and secured the win for the team in the same game. Keaton Anthony had a career night during the first game of the series with four hits, a run, two doubles, a home run and five RBI. He matched a career-high in hits and set a new career-best in RBI.

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats just finished up their series against the Hartford Yard Goats, Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. The Fisher Cats won the series 3-2, with one game postponed due to weather. Top prospects Charles McAdoo, RJ Schrek and Peyton Williams all scored over the series to secure the wins for the Fisher Cats.

Top 30 Toronto Blue Jays prospects include: outfielder Charles McAdoo, outfielder RJ Schrek, RHP Ryan Jennings, outfielder Jace Bohrofen, outfielder Dasan Brown and first baseman Peyton Williams.

RHP Moisés Chace takes the mound first on Tuesday, May 13 as he goes opposite RHP CJ Van Eyk. RHP Jean Cabrera steps up against RHP Rafael Sánchez on Wednesday, May 14. RHP Gabe Mosser faces off against RHP Michael Dominguez on Thursday, May 15. On Friday, May 16, RHP Chuck King goes opposite RHP Ryan Watson. LHP Braeden Fausnaught is slated to start on Saturday, May 17 against RHP Devereaux Harrison. RHP Moisés Chace and RHP CJ Van Eyk meet again on Sunday, May 18 to finish out the series.

After this series, The Reading Fightin Phils head to Portland to take on the Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. Reading returns home on Tuesday, May 27 at 11:00 a.m. to start their next series against the Erie SeaWolves, Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers.
