Reading Fightin Phils Welcome Chesapeake Baysox to Baseballtown

The Reading Fightin Phils, Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, welcome the Chesapeake Baysox, Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, to Baseballtown for the 12th homestand of the season. This is the second meeting between the two teams as the first series took place in July at Chesapeake where they split the series. First pitch is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26 to kick off the six game series.

Tuesday is “Find Your Unclaimed Money Night” thanks to the Pennsylvania Treasury Department. The series continues Wednesday as the two teams face off at 6:45 p.m. Throwback Thursday returns with fireworks courtesy of PA Virtual Charter School, Members 1st Federal Credit Union, Berks Technical Institute and The Learning Experience Wyomissing. The festivities continue with Fiesta Friday which wraps up with fireworks thanks to Adams & Associates. Saturday’s game will be a Tribute to Disney’s “Mickey Mouse” topped with Carpenter Mega Blast Fireworks, the largest fireworks show in stadium history, thanks to Blue Ridge Remodeling. Wrapping up the series on Sunday is Dinosaur Day: An Immersive Dinosaur Experience with appearances by Pennsylvania Dinosaurs courtesy of Tower Health - Reading Hospital.

The Fightin Phils are returning from their away series against the Altoona Curve. Reading split the series with Altoona after falling in the first game and the final two. The final game of the series was called early due to weather and the Curve were granted the final 8-6 victory. Aidan Miller had a career-first multi-home run game during Thursday’s night game. Miller continued to have a strong performance at the plate as he posted a .522 batting average and was named Eastern League Player of the Week for the second time this August. Jose Rodriguez returned after an injury rehab and collected three hits in each of the final two games of the series.

The Chesapeake Baysox are rolling into Reading after completing back-to-back homestands. They split both series, the first against the Erie SeaWolves, Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, and the second against the Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. The Baysox had back-to-back shutout wins against the Flying Squirrels during their series and Levi Wells earned his first professional win.

Top 30 Orioles Prospects include: outfielder Enrique Bradfield Jr., RHP Michael Forret, RHP Juaron Watts-Brown, RHP Nestor German, RHP Braxton Bragg, RHP Levi Wells, RHP Patrick Reilly, infielder Aron Estrada and outfielder Austin Overn.

RHP Estibenzon Jimenez gets things started on Tuesday against RHP Blake Money. RHP Chuck King takes over on Wednesday against RHP Zach Fruit. RHP Jean Cabrera will go opposite RHP Nestor German on Thursday. RHP Braydon Tucker takes the mound for Reading on Friday followed by RHP Griff McGarry on Saturday against RHP Juaron Watts-Brown. RHP Estibenzon Jimenez closes out the series on Sunday as he faces off against RHP Michael Forret.
