EL PASO, TX. - The Reno Aces and El Paso Chihuahuas squared off in the first game of a four-game set Friday Night from Southwest University Park. Down on MLB Rehab Assignment, A.J. Pollock went 2-for-4 with two home runs, raising his average to .267 during his stint with the Aces. Matt Koch was reinstated off of the Disabled List this afternoon and got his first start since April 8th. Koch allowed six runs on seven hits in five innings of work. Oswaldo Arcia followed Pollock's lead, blasting his 19th home run of the season.
Reno got into the scoring column in the top of the third inning. A.J. Pollock connected on a 1-2 fastball from El Paso starter Zach Lee to give the Aces a 1-0 lead. Pollock was sent to the disabled list with a Grade 1 groin strain on May 14th. Before the injury, Pollock was batting .299 with two home runs, 26 runs scored and 11 stolen bases. Pollock had Lee's number all night, hitting his second solo homer of the game in the 5th inning. 

El Paso's bats were on fire all night. As a team, the Chihuahuas went 17-for-39 (.439) with four home runs. El Paso put up five consecutive multi-run innings against the Aces pitching staff. Christian Villanueva led the way, going 3-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI. Four Chihuahuas ended Friday night with multi-hit games. Franchy Cordero went 4-for-5 with a double and former Aces outfielder Nick Buss went 3-for-5 with a run scored and a RBI.
Reno remains in first place in the Pacific Northern Division with a record of 49-32. The Tacoma Rainiers find themselves 6.5 games back with a record of 41-37. The Aces will face to El Paso tomorrow for game two of the series tomorrow evening at 6:05 p.m. Greg Gross and the club will return to The Biggest Little City on the 4th of July and take on the Rainiers.
