With a two-run shot in the top of the first inning, Kevin Cron broke Christian Walker's single-season home run record Sunday night during Reno's 10-2 victory over Oklahoma City. It was Cron's 33rd of the year in just 66 games played. The Aces would go on to add three more runs in the inning on an RBI-double from Andy Young and Lucas Herbert's first career Triple-A home run, a two-run blast. It was the only scoring in the game until the sixth inning when Ildemaro Vargas hit a three-run homer. Vargas finished a double short of the cycle. Domingo Leyba would score two more in the top of the eighth on a double. The contest marked the 26th time this season the Aces have reached double-digit runs. Matt Koch was solid in his start against the Dodgers. The righty from Louisville earned the win going 6.0 innings, allowing two runs on two hits while striking out a season-high 11 batters. Joel Payamps will take the ball in game three against the Dodgers tomorrow night with first pitch scheduled for 5:05 p.m. PT

Notes & Information
Record Breaker: Kevin Cron launched his 33rd homer of the season tonight in the top of the first inning. He broke Christian Walker's single-season franchise record, set in 2017, for home runs in a year. Walker played in 133 games that season for Reno. Cron has played in just 66 games for Reno this season. Cron also tied Mike Jacobs and Brandon Allen for the all-time lead in homers with 55. One more homer and Cron would become the Aces all-time home run king. Cron is hitting .325 with 33 home runs, 90 RBIs, and 70 runs scored this season with an .811 slugging percentage.
Grab a Seat: Matt Koch sat down a Reno 2019 single-game best 11 batters tonight. He struck out the side in three separate innings. Koch passed Taylor Widener (2x) and Taylor Clarke who had the previous high of nine strikeouts in a game. It's the second time the righty struck out 11 hitters in his career. The previous time came on June 12, 2013 while playing in A-ball for the Savannah Sand Gnats. The last time a Reno pitcher had 10+ strikeouts in a game came on April 23, 2017 by Anthony Banda (11).
Vargy: Ildemaro Vargas extended his hitting streak to 14 games with a single in the top of the first inning. A hit in his next game will set the longest hit-streak of 2019 (15 games) for the team. Juniel Querecuto also had a 14-game hit-streak earlier this season. During Vargas' streak he is 30-for-68 (.441) with a home run, five doubles, a triple, 15 RBIs and 14 runs scored and a .472 on-base percentage. Vargas owns the Aces all-time hit-streak of 35 games set in 2018.
