Orlando, FL - The Arizona Diamondbacks signed outfielder César Puello to a Minor League Free Agent Contract with an invite to Major League Spring Training, the club announced yesterday. The 26-year-old La Romana, Dominican Republic native played 87 games in the Pacific Coast League in 2017 (43 with Round Rock and 44 with Salt Lake). At 6'2 220 pounds, Puello displayed power from the right-handed batter's box, launching 13 home runs and 26 doubles.

Puello was assigned to Reno following his signing. A veteran minor leaguer, Puello looks to be a potential middle-of-the-lineup option for Manager Greg Gross in 2018. Other sluggers likely to join the Aces roster in April are Kevin Cron (2017 Southern League MVP), Christian Walker (2017 Pacific Coast League MVP), Ildemaro Vargas, Jack Reinheimer, Evan Marzilli and Ronnie Freeman.
