RENO, Nev. – Every year, the Reno Aces front office awards four of its players a HOME award to recognize their efforts throughout the season. This year, they were handed out on Sunday, September 13 and the 2026 Clubhouse Captain is Tommy Henry.

After a late start to the season due to injury, Henry went on to appear in 21 total outings (18 starts) and was once again a key cog to the Reno pitching staff as he worked 89 total innings with a 6.78 ERA. Those 89 frames were second most on the Aces this season, and Henry also found himself among Aces leaders as he ranked third in games started and seventh in strikeouts (64).

This season was more about Henry chasing history, as the Portage, Mich. native etched his name atop numerous categories in the Reno Aces record books. With his sixth and final strikeout against Sacramento on May 29, Henry became just the second Aces pitcher and first southpaw to reach 300 career strikeouts. Just a few starts later and the record solely belonged to Henry, passing the 307 of Charles Brewer by punching out two on June 11 against Salt Lake, with his career total now resting at 354.

The Michigan baseball product also became the Aces’ all-time leader in games started, passing Brewer by making his 69th start on July 31 against Round Rock before ending the season with 74. Though he does not rank first, Henry climbed up to third in career innings pitched (385.2), tied for 10th in quality starts (16), and 18th in total games pitched (77).

Highlights were still to be had along the way outside of the history making efforts, including Henry striking out the most batters in a single game by an Ace this season when he mowed down 10 Bees on the road in Salt Lake on July 19.

On Aug. 29, Henry made the final of his three relief appearances of the season, working five innings of two-hit ball while striking out four without a walk to earn the victory against the Sacramento River Cats in Reno. Thanks to his effort of facing just two batters over the minimum, Henry earned his first ever Pacific Coast League weekly recognition by being named the PCL Pitcher of the Week on Aug. 30. That made Henry one of three pitchers to collect the honor this season.

While he has always proven himself statistically, many of Henry’s contributions come off the field through the numerous daily interactions with teammates and staff. Henry will go down as an all-time Reno Ace in the record books, and certainly as an all-time teammate as well.

The Reno Aces’ 2027 home opener is set for Tuesday, March 30 as they host the Tacoma Rainiers, Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. Season tickets are currently on sale – for more information, fans can visit RenoAces.com or call (775) 334-7000.
