Rochester Red Wings right-handed pitcher Randy Dobnak has been named International League Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Dobnak made two starts during the period ending July 28, going 2-0 with a 1.46 ERA (2 ER, 12.1 IP) with seven hits, a hit batter, three walks, and 10 strikeouts. He was the only IL pitcher with two wins, tied for the league lead with 12.1 innings, and ranked fourth in the league with a 0.81 WHIP, and seventh with a .159 batting average against during the period.
In his first start of the week on July 23 vs. Norfolk, Dobnak fired 6.0 scoreless innings on four hits and two walks while striking out six. Only one man reached third base. He retired the first nine batters of the game in order in his second start on July 28 vs. Indianapolis before issuing a leadoff walk in the 4th inning. Dobnak didn't allow another baserunner until the 6th when Steven Baron hit a one-out infield single, ending the no-hit bid after 5.1 innings. The Indians would score a pair of runs in the 7th, ending Dobnak's day after allowing two runs on three hits, a hit batter, and a walk while striking out four over 6.1 innings.
Dobnak is 10-3 with a 2.04 ERA (27 ER, 119 IP) with 95 hits, 31 total runs, six home runs, four hit batters, 23 walks, and 100 strikeouts in 21 games, 19 starts, combined between Rochester, Double-A Pensacola, and Single-A Ft. Myers. His 2.04 ERA ranks third among all minor leaguers with at least 100 innings pitched this season. Dobnak is also one of only 23 minor league pitchers with at least 10 wins.
Dobnak is the third Red Wing to earn IL Pitcher of the Week, joining Sean Poppen (June 10) and Lewis Thorpe (April 29). Jaylin Davis also earned IL Batter of the Week on July 8.
