Red Wings to host Women in Sports Night Friday

Headlined by former Team USA soccer star Kristine Lilly

The Rochester Red Wings will host Women in Sports Night on Friday, May 10 at Frontier Field! The night will be headlined by former Team USA soccer star Kristine Lilly.

The Rochester Red Wings will host Women in Sports Night on Friday, May 10 at Frontier Field! The night will be headlined by former Team USA soccer star Kristine Lilly.

A decorated member of the Team USA Women's Soccer Team, Lilly won two World Cups (1991, 1999) and two Gold Medals (1996, 2004). Her 130 international goals ranks 3rd in U.S. history behind Mia Hamm and Abby Wambach. Lilly will sign autographs from 6-6:30 and participate in a pre-game, roundtable discussion on the field.

The first 500 girls (18 & under) will receive a Red Wings softball giveaway presented by Zweigle's. It will mark the first softball giveaway in Frontier Field history.

Along with the Our Lady of Mercy High School varsity team, the Wings will host a pre-game clinic for local youth softball players from 5-6 pm. If your team or organization is interested in participating in the clinic, call our Group Sales department at (585) 454-1001. There is no additional cost to participate in the clinic, only a game ticket is needed. All participants will receive the softball giveaway.
Our first Women in Sports Night will also feature a roundtable discussion with prominent women who have made an impact in the sports community. Along with Lilly, guests that evening will include:
Janie Reed -- Outfielder for Team USA Softball
Iris Zimmermann -- Olympic Fencer
Megan MacKenzie -- First female ice hockey official in New York State. Officiated the 2002 Olympic Games
Naomi Silver -- President/CEO/COO of the Rochester Red Wings
Alannah Scardino -- A former Red Wings intern and the woman responsible for this great night! Alannah was a member of the East High Football Team in High School.
The discussion will be led by Stacey Pensgen, the chief meteorologist at WROC-TV and a former competitive figure skater.
