The Rochester Red Wings faced off against the Worcester Red Sox in the fourth of a six-game set at Innovative Field Friday night. The Wings collected five runs on ten hits, but fell to the WooSox, 6-5 in 10 innings.

DH Wilson Garcia gave the Wings an early lead on an RBI single that brought home rehabbing LF Corey Dickerson which marked the fifth straight game Rochester has crossed the plate in the first frame. Worcester took the lead in the second courtesy of two solo home runs, one coming off the bat of former Wing Daniel Palka. Rochester took the lead back an inning later with a pair of runs of their own, via a fielder’s choice by C Kevin Plawecki, and an RBI single by CF Cody Wilson to make the score 3-2 after four innings of play.

In the bottom half of the fifth, RF Franklin Barreto connected on his fifth home run of the year, a 445 foot solo shot, to give the Wings a 4-2 lead. The WooSox tied the game back up in the sixth, plating a pair of runs on two RBI singles. The score remained tied through nine innings, until Worcester took the lead with a pair of runs in the tenth, one via a passed ball and another on a sacrifice fly. 3B Richie Martin trimmed the lead to one on an RBI double, but he was stranded at third and the WooSox tied up the series at two games apiece, 6-5.

RHP Jose Ureña *took the ball to start for the Wings, making his Innovative Field debut. The Dominican Republic native worked five full innings, allowing two earned on four hits, while striking out eight. LHP *Jose Ferrer, LHP Alberto Baldonado, LHP Matt Cronin, and RHP Jordan Weems combined to hold Worcester to just two runs on five hits over the final five innings of play.

The Wings went 4-for-4 in ABS challenges, improving their season total to 6-for-13 over six challenge games.

Cody Wilson has been named Diamond Pro Player of the Game for the second consecutive night. The Florida Atlantic alum was one of two Wings with multiple hits, going 2-for-5 with an RBI, which marked his seventh RBI in the last 24 hours.

Rochester is back in action Saturday night, as they look to win their second series of the year. Wings Opening Day starter RHP Joan Adon is slated to make his eighth start of the season, facing off against WooSox RHP Norwith Gudino. First pitch is set for 6:45 pm.
