Coming into Friday night riding a six-game winning streak, the Rochester Red Wings (29-20, 74-48) fell victim to a late three-run homer and fell against the Omaha Storm Chasers (24-23, 57-64), 4-3. LF Johnathon Thomas cracked his first Triple-A home run, while DH Trey Lipscomb extended his hitting streak to 17 games with a multi-hit performance. On the mound, RHP Chandler Champlain turned in 5.0 two-hit, shutout innings on the mound against his former club.

Rochester got off to a great start in the top of the first as SS Seaver King drew a walk. He advanced to second on a groundout before 1B Yohandy Morales singled and moved to second on an error, bringing in King and giving the Red Wings an early 1-0 lead.
After a scoreless second, Johnathon Thomas crushed his first career Triple-A home run with an exit velocity of 101.8 mph, giving Rochester a 2-0 lead.
After being shut out for six innings, the Storm Chasers' RF Jacob Berry smashed a home run with one out in the seventh, cutting the Red Wings' lead to 2-1.
The Storm Chasers kept their offense alive the following inning in the eighth as SS Alejo Lopez singled to left, and later advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt. Lopez moved to third on a wild pitch before DH Abraham Toro was hit by a pitch. Then 1B Brent Squires smashed a three-run home run, giving the Storm Chasers a late 4-2 lead.
With their last chance to tie or retake the lead, the leadoff batter struck out before PH Riley Adams crushed his 14th home run of the season, sending it 441 feet off the batter's eye with an exit velocity of 107.2 mph to bring Rochester back within one run at 4-3. Seaver King then drew a walk, putting the tying run on base. 2B Phillip Glasser followed with a walk of his own, giving the Red Wings the go-ahead run on first and King the tying run on second. The next batter grounded out, moving King and Glasser to second and third, respectively. The final batter struck out, ending the Wings' six-game winning streak by a one-run margin.
Chandler Champlain got the start for Rochester, pitching 5.0 innings with one strikeout, two hits, and one walk. RHP Jack Sinclair came on for Champlain, pitching 1.0 inning with three strikeouts. RHP Yovanny Cruz, making his Red Wings debut, followed Sinclair with 1.0 inning, allowing one hit and one run while issuing one walk. RHP Cole Henry entered behind Cruz, pitching 1.0 inning with two hits, three runs, and two strikeouts.
The Rochester Red Wings Player of the Game today is RHP Chandler Champlain. The former USC Trojan pitched 5.0 shutout innings against his former team, and now ranks second in the International League with a 1.07 WHIP. Champlain appeared in 50 games with the Storm Chasers in 2024 & 2025, racking up 223.2 innings and 172 strikeouts.
Rochester will play game five of the series against the Knights on Saturday at 7:05 p.m., as they look to bounce back. LHP Hunter Patteson is expected to make his Triple-A debut with the Storm Chasers.
