CF Rhylan Thomas drew a leadoff walk in the bottom of the third, and DH Daz Cameron followed with a single to center field. A wild pitch moved both runners into scoring position before SS Jay Harry lined a two-run double to left field. After 3B Josh Kasevich walked, a groundout advanced Harry and Kasevich to third and second, respectively. With two outs, 1B Peyton Williams drove a double to right field to bring both runners home and give Buffalo a 4-0 lead.

The fourth and fifth were scoreless, and 2B Cortland Lawson opened the sixth inning with a double down the left-field line and advanced to third on a lineout. 3B Trey Lipscomb brought him home with a groundout, cutting Rochester's deficit to 4-1.

RF RJ Schreck led off the bottom of the eighth with a solo home run to right field, and 2B Nick Goodwin followed with a solo shot to left-center to extend Buffalo's lead to 6-1. The Bisons added another insurance run in the frame on an RBI single from Daz Cameron to carry a six-run cushion into the ninth.

The Red Wings did not cross the plate in the top of the ninth despite a walk to Trey Lipscomb. Buffalo solidified a 7-1 win to tie the series at two games apiece.

Jarlin Susana allowed four earned on four hits across 2.2 frames in his Triple-A debut, while striking out three and walking four. His first pitch was clocked at 102.6 MPH, tied for the third-hardest pitch in the International League this season. Former Buffalo RHP Paxton Schultz was first out of the bullpen, twirling 1.1 scoreless innings on one hit with three strikeouts of his own. RHP Chandler Champlain took the bulk of the work, surrendering three earned on five hits through 3.2 frames, with four strikeouts and two walks. RHP Ben Grable needed just one pitch to record the final out of the eighth to finish things off.

RHP Paxton Schultz is Friday night’s Red Wings Player of the Game. He has allowed just two earned across 8.0 innings in the month of September (2.25 ERA), while striking out 10 and walking just one in six appearances.

The Red Wings look to bounce back and re-take the series lead Saturday afternoon. RHP Zak Kent will take the ball for Rochester against Bisons RHP Grant Rogers. The first pitch is slated for 1:05 p.m.
