ROME, GA – The Crawdads, behind 12 hits as a team, never trailed the Braves in their 4-2 victory on Friday night.

Hickory opened the scorebook with four unanswered runs: a run in the first, one in the third, and two more in the fifth. Braves starter Patrick Halligan worked 3.2 innings and surrendered two of those four runs with just one being earned. The other two runs belonged to Roel Ramirez who was first in relief out of the pen.

Kevin Kilpatrick Jr. recorded the only multi-hit performance of the night for Rome. He led off the game with a single up the middle and then sent a third inning double into the right field corner for his ninth two-bagger of the year. Possibly the best scoring opportunity for the Braves came in the bottom of the seventh. Singles from Ogans and Stevens followed by a walk to Kadon Morton loaded the bases for Stephen Paolini. A weak groundball to the left side would score a run but the Braves would strand two in the inning. Rome’s second run of the ballgame would come in the eighth on a Bryson Horne sacrifice fly to score Drake Baldwin.

Rolddy Munoz hurled his third consecutive scoreless outing out of the back end of the pen. Four innings tonight from the Santo Domingo native brought his scoreless streak up to 13 innings, dating back to May 21st. The Braves are back at it again tomorrow night against the ‘Dads. First pitch is slated for 5:00 pm EDT.
