Las Vegas Handles Round Rock with 8-2 Win

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Las Vegas plated five runs on five hits in the top of the first. DH Logan Davidson hit a bases-loaded single to score two runs before 1B CJ Alexander tripled into the right-center gap scratching two more across. CF Denzel Clarke sent Alexander home with a double and the Aviators led 5-0 after one.
In the fourth, the Aviators put three more on the board with a two-run double from LF Drew Avans and SS Darell Hernaiz roped a single down the left side as Avans came around to extend the Las Vegas lead to 8-0.
SS Jonathan Ornelas led off with a walk in the sixth. CF Kellen Strahm produced the E-Train’s only runs of the night with his first home run at Dell Diamond and Round Rock got on the board, 8-2. Strahm’s homer would be the final hit for the Express. RHP Anthony Maldonado and RHP Angel Perdomo combined for six strikeouts in the final three frames, sealing the Aviators’ 8-2 win.
E-TRAIN EXCERPTS:
STRAHM SURGING: Round Rock OF Kellen Strahm belted the first Dell Diamond home run of his career. Strahm was 1-for-3 with a homer, an RBI, a run scored and a walk. The righty has the highest hard-hit percentage on the club (51.1%)
LET COLE COOK: RHP Cole Winn tossed 2.0 scoreless innings allowing two hits and one walk out of the bullpen on Saturday. Winn has now thrown 17.2 innings without an earned run which is the longest streak in all of Triple-A.
