Sacramento struck for a run in the bottom half of the first. CF Jonah Cox doubled to start the inning and came around to score when 3B Parks Harber doubled down the left field line.
SS Keyber Rodriguez tied the game at one in the top of the fifth with a solo home run.
The Express grabbed a 2-1 edge with a run in the top of the sixth. DH Logan O’Hoppe got aboard with an infield single and advanced a station on SS Aeverson Arteaga’s throwing error. Later, DH Cooper Johnson’s single sent O’Hoppe around from second to put the E-Train in front.
The River Cats answered right back with a run. 2B Diego Velasquez walked and advanced to third on a ground-rule double from C Zach Morgan. Velasquez scored on a sacrifice fly from SS Aeverson Artega, evening the score at two entering the final three frames.
Round Rock grabbed a late lead in the top of the ninth with a trio of runs. RF Trevor Hauver and Rodriguez started the inning with singles. RF Orlando Martinez was used as a pinch runner for Hauver. Kelenic scored Martinez with an RBI single and advanced Rodriguez to third. 2B Cody Freeman drove in Rodriguez with a sacrifice fly and Bride capped off the inning with an RBI single to make it a three-run advantage.
RHP Gavin Collyer quieted the Sacramento bats in the ninth to secure a 5-2 victory.
