HOW IT HAPPENED:

Round Rock plated the first runs of the game in the fifth inning. Back-to-back singles for RF Trevor Hauver and CF Kellen Strahm started the inning. A throwing error by Salt Lake RHP Dakota Hudson on a bunt attempt by SS Michael Helman loaded the bases. 1B Billy McKinney walked to make it 1-0 as Hauver scored. A single for C Cooper Johnson scored Strahm and 3B Alex De Goti hit into a double play but Helman scored from third base to push the lead to 3-0.

The Express posted another three-run frame in the sixth. After a single for McKinney and a walk for Johnson, De Goti put down a sacrifice bunt. 2B Justin Foscue doubled into the gap and it was 5-0 E-Train. With Foscue on second, DH Blaine Crim singled and it was 6-0. The Bees answered in the home half when CF Kyren Paris drilled a solo dinger to cut the lead at 6-1.

Round Rock tallied a run in the seventh inning. With two on and two out for De Goti, he singled into left field and the E-Train led, 7-1. In the bottom half of the seventh, LF Tucker Flint and 3B Yolmer Sanchez singled to put men on the corners for the Bees. C Zach Humphreys hit a sacrifice fly and Salt Lake trailed, 7-2.

1B J.D. Davis went deep for the Bees in the eighth inning. His solo homer made it just a 7-3 Express advantage. Round Rock hung on the rest of the way for the victory.

E-TRAIN EXCERPTS:

STRAHM SWINGS IT: Round Rock CF Kellen Strahm finished 3-for-5 with a run scored. The right-hander finishes the week in Salt Lake slashing .409 (9-22)/.480/.545 with three doubles, two RBI, four runs scored, three walks and two strikeouts.

PLASSMEYER GREAT AGAIN: Round Rock LHP Michael Plassmeyer provided 4.0 innings out of the bullpen while allowing two runs on four hits with two walks and six strikeouts. Since May 1, he is 2-0 with a 2.42 ERA (7 ER/26.0 IP) with 11 walks and 27 strikeouts. He has tossed 3.0 innings or more in seven of the eight appearances.
