Express Shut Down Space Cowboys on Wednesday Afternoon

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Express tallied the first run of the day in the fourth. SS Ezequiel Duran singled then RF Trevor Hauver and 1B Justin Foscue each walked to load the bases. 3B Cody Freeman grounded into a double play but Duran scored and Round Rock led 1-0.
In the fifth, the E-Train plated another run. LF Kellen Strahm reached on a fielder’s choice and CF Evan Carter singled up the middle. After a successful double steal from the two, Strahm scored from third on a ground out from DH Blaine Crim to make it 2-0.
Strahm and Carter opened the seventh with a pair of singles before Crim launched a three-run homer to left. Crim’s seventh home run of the season extended the Round Rock lead to 5-0.
Sugar Land DH Jesús Bastidas and CF Kenedy Corona walked to lead off the eighth. The two executed a double steal then LF Tommy Sacco Jr. sent Bastidas home on a sacrifice fly. The Express held the Space Cowboys to one run and earned a 5-1 road win.
E-TRAIN EXCERPTS:
A MILESTONE FOR BLAINE: With his three-run homer in the seventh inning, DH Blaine Crim became just the ninth player in Round Rock history to record 200 RBI. Crim has also belted 49 home runs in his career with the Express. Only five players in club history have notched 200 RBI and 50 home runs.
SWIPING BAGS: Round Rock stole a franchise-record seven bases in Wednesday’s victory. LF Kellen Strahm swiped a career-high three bags, SS Ezequiel Duran had two and 2B Jonathan Ornelas and CF Evan Carter each stole one.
WELCOME TO TRIPLE-A, PEYTON GRAY (THAT RHYMED – UNINTENTIONAL): In his Triple-A debut, RHP Peyton Gray tossed 2.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen. Gray allowed one hit and two walks with two strikeouts.
