Space Cowboys Beat Express 8-1 on Wednesday

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Sugar Land jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning. After a single from 1B Jon Singleton, C Collin Price walked. SS Edwin Díaz singled to make it 1-0. CF Kennedy Corona doubled to extend the lead at 3-0 and he came home on a throwing error from 3B Cody Freeman later in the frame.
Round Rock tallied their first run of the night in the sixth inning. The E-Train loaded the bases after a CF Dustin Harris walk and singles for 1B Blaine Crim and RF Kellen Strahm. With two outs, C Cooper Johnson walked with the bases loaded to make it a 4-1 game.
The Space Cowboys grabbed that run right back in the bottom of sixth inning. RF Quincy Hamilton knocked in a run with an RBI single and 3B Jesús Bastidas drilled a two-run homer to extend the lead at 7-1.
Sugar Land snagged one more run in the bottom of the eighth. Following a single for CF Kennedy Corona, Hamilton smacked a double to make it an 8-1 lead where the score stood final.
E-TRAIN EXCERPTS:
TRIPLE-A DEBUT: Express LHP Kohl Drake and RHP Skylar Hales made their Triple-A debut on Wednesday. Drake got the loss as his start went 3.1 innings with seven hits, four runs, three earned, one walk and six strikeouts. Hales tossed the sixth frame and in his 1.0-inning of work he allowed three runs on two hits with two strikeouts. Both pitchers first Triple-A strikeout came against Astros top prospect according to MLB Pipeline, OF Brice Matthews.
HERE COMES HARRIS: CF Dustin Harris extended his hitting streak to four games with his 2-for-4 night that included a run scored and a strikeout. Since June 1, Harris is slashing .295/.362/.505/.867 with five doubles, a triple, five home runs, 17 RBI, 20 runs scored, 11 walks and 21 strikeouts. He has 11 multi-hit games during that span.
