HOW IT HAPPENED:

Sugar Land LF Luis Castro led off the top of the second with a home run to take a 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the frame, Round Rock LF Aaron Zavala got aboard with his first base hit at the Triple-A level. C Cooper Johnson followed with a 415-foot homer, giving the Express a 2-1 advantage.

The Space Cowboys retook the lead in the top of the third with back-to-back RBI singles from 1B Jon Singleton and SS Edwin Díaz. Sugar Land led 3-2 after three. Sugar Land 2B Brice Matthews recorded a double in the fifth and Castro traded places with him, extending the Space Cowboys lead to 4-2.

In the top of the ninth, RF Quincy Hamilton singled and Matthews drew a walk, setting up Castro’s second home run of the night. The Space Cowboys led 7-2 heading into the bottom of the ninth.

Round Rock put two runners on via walks, but RHP Nick Hernandez left the runners stranded and Sugar Land took game four, 7-2.

E-TRAIN EXCERPTS:

CODI AND CURVELO: Round Rock relievers RHP Codi Heuer and RHP Luis Curvelo held the Space Cowboys hitless in a combined 2.1 consecutive innings. Heuer and Curvelo are tied for the club lead with 29 appearances apiece. The two, combined, have struck out 80 batters this year.

THROWING CHAIRS: The Express have struck out at least 10 batters in each game of the series. They lead the league with 46 strikeouts in the first four games of the month.

SPEEDY STRAHM: RF Kellen Strahm stole his 28th bag of the year on Friday night. He is now one shy of his season-best 29 stolen bases between Round Rock and Double-A Frisco in 2024. Strahm ranks second in the Pacific Coast League. He trails OF Esteury Ruiz of Oklahoma City with 39 stolen bases.
