E-Train Offense Goes Quiet Against Space Cowboys

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Sugar Land jumped out to an early lead after 1B Trenton Brooks started the second inning with a solo home run.

SS Keyber Rodriguez tied the game with a solo home run to start the sixth.

The Space Cowboys loaded the bases in the seventh following back-to-back singles and a walk. Brooks, who was on third base, scored on a wild pitch from RHP Michel Otañez.

Sugar Land added an insurance run in the eighth to extend the lead to two. 3B Raynel Delgado worked a walk and came around to score on RF C.J. Alexander’s double.

Round Rock went down in order in the eighth and ninth innings, falling 3-1 on Saturday night.

RHP AIDAN CURRY: (ND, 5.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R-ER, 3 SO, 1 BB, 1 HR, 83 pitches, 44 strikes) made his Triple-A debut on Saturday night… recorded his 1^st Triple-A strikeout to end the 1^st inning, leaving runners on 1^st and 2^nd… retired the next 12 batters faced after allowing a solo shot to 1B Trenton Brooks in the 2nd… 11^th time this season Round Rock’s starter has tossed 5.0+ innings while allowing 3 H or less… are 4-7 in those contests… 6^th time this month the Express have gotten 5.0+ innings out of their starter… 2 H allowed is tied for a season-low (Also 7/24 with Double-A Frisco).

INF KEYBER RODRIGUEZ: now leads the Express in HR after launching his 11^th round-tripper of the season in the 6^th… 88.8 mph is the 3rd-softest home run this season by an E-Train hitter and the 2nd-softest at Dell Diamond… 2^nd solo homer of the series for Rodriguez (also 8/13)…the infielder has hit 3 HR in his first 12 G of August… hit 4 HR in 22 July G and 19 June G, respectively… 3 of Keyber’s 8 H this month have come from the long ball.

NOTES: The Express were held to 1 R for the 2^nd consecutive night… the last time Round Rock was held to 1 R in back-to-back games was 8/12-13 last season against SAC at Dell Diamond… the E-Train were also held to 1 R in back-to-back games to start the 2025 campaign in TAC.
