River Cats win third straight, beat 51s 6-1

Offense racks up 12 hits, Williamson homers for second straight night

West Sacramento, CA - The Sacramento River Cats (61-75) offense was firing on all cylinders Wednesday night. They jumped ahead early in the first inning and rolled to an easy 6-1 victory over the Las Vegas 51s (52-85).

Ryan Lollis got things started for the River Cats, driving in two with the bases loaded in the first frame. Mac Williamson highlighted the scoring, launching his second big fly in as many games over the center field wall in the fifth inning. As a team, the River Cats went 5-for-14 with runners in scoring position.
Sacramento starter Kraig Sitton gave the team a solid four innings in his second start this season, allowing just one hit and one run. The bullpen took it from there with Collin Balester tossing three scoreless frames to follow. Balester earned his first win of the year for his efforts.
Right-hander Casey Kelly (7-5, 4.55) will get the ball for the River Cats tomorrow night. He will square off against the 51s' righty Robert Gsellman (0-0, 0.00). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. (PT) and the game can be heard live online at rivercats.com and on the air on Money 105.5 FM.
