The Mud Hens went down 1-0 after the second inning, but rallied back with 4 unanswered runs. One run coming off the bat of Daz Cameron by way of the Sacrifice Fly in the third inning. Another pair of runs coming by way of a Victor Reyes 2-run home run in the fifth inning. A Dustin Garneau solo shot in the ninth inning was the final blow in this one as the Mud Hens claimed victory.
Garneau led the way with 3 hits on the night, including his home run and RBI. Reyes picked up a double in addition to his home run for a 2-hit night with 2 RBI. Akil Baddoo, Cameron, Kody Clemens, Zack Short, and Jack Lopez each picked up a hit tonight. Cameron also had an RBI.
The Hens were helped along by some sparkling defensive plays from Lopez and Baddoo along the way.
Matt Manning made his second rehab start with the Mud Hens, going 3 and 2/3's innings. Manning allowed one run on two hits, while walking two and striking out four Bats. Luis Castillo picked up the win in relief, pitching 1 and 1/3's innings letting up one hit and striking out one batter. Miguel Diaz pitched 2 innings, allowing two hits and striking out one batter. Diaz tallied a hold. Miguel Del Pozo also tallied a hold in his relief appearance. Del Pozo pitched 1 inning, allowing one hit and two strikeouts. Bryan Garcia picked up his first save of the season, pitching a perfect ninth inning, while notching a strikeout.
