Escobar walks off in game one as Curve work doubleheader split
CURVE, Pa. - The Altoona Curve split a double-header with the Trenton Thunder on Saturday at Peoples Natural Gas Field in front of a crowd of 7,280.Elvis Escobar delivered a walk-off single to win game one, 3-2, but the Curve were shut out, 4-0, in game two of the twinbill.

Game One
The Curve got on the board in the first inning off of Trenton starter
Altoona held the lead until the top of the sixth inning. With runners on second and third with two outs,
Tate worked a six-inning complete game for the Thunder in his Double-A debut. He allowed six hits, walked four and struck out two.
After Keller left the game following the sixth inning,
Game Two
Trenton (78-40) pitchers
The Thunder struck first in the third inning when
Avelino extended the Thunder's lead to 4-0 when he hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning. It was his second homer of the season and both have come against Altoona.
Mesa Jr. threw 4.1 scoreless innings. He struck out four, walked three and gave up two hits. Reeves pitched the final 2.2 innings to secure the win.
The second game was played to make up a rain-postponement on July 28.
Altoona will wrap up their series with Trenton on Sunday. Right-hander
Sunday will be Faith Night, presented by Element Church featuring a John Tibbs pregame concert beginning at 4:45 p.m. The ballpark gates open at 4:30. Fans can participate with pregame catch on the field, presented by PA Cyber. On Sunday, the Curve will wear special Faith Night jerseys, presented by Central States Manufacturing. All proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit Patched Together.
Following the game, there will be a Miracle League ball launch and kids will run the bases, as well as Praise Music-themed fireworks.
