Parker & Shepherd lead Jackets past Pelicans

Spencer Strider fans seven in Jackets debut

North Augusta, SC – Spencer Strider was nearly untouchable on the mound for three innings, while Brandon Parker and Cam Shepherd led the Augusta offense to a 10-2 win. The victory ends a three-game losing streak and keeps the Jackets in position to win the series.

Strider finished the night after just three innings, but the 4th round selection in 2020 by the Braves ended his start with seven strikeouts. He retired all nine batters he faced.

The first of Shepherd’s four RBIs came in the 3rd inning on a double to make it 1-0. In the 4th, the Augusta offense was relentless. Shepherd doubled with the bases loaded to give the Jackets a 4-0 advantage. RBIs for Parker and Landon Stephens quickly made it 6-0.

Ben Thompson collected the win for the Jackets coming in for three scoreless innings.

Myrtle Beach added two runs in the 7th, but the Jackets added four runs in the 9th on bases-loaded walks from Willie Carter and Ricardo Rodriguez, followed by a Cade Bunnell single.

*Carter Linton *made his GreenJackets debut by throwing a scoreless 9th inning to finish it off.

· *Cade Bunnell *continues to reach base. Bunnell finished 1-for-3, 2 R, 2 RBI, 2 BB. He now has an OBP of .394.
