Bisons fall to Scranton in Walk-off fashion.

The Bisons dropped its second straight game to Scranton in dramatic fashion.

A three-run walk off home run by Robert Refsnyder in the bottom of the ninth made it for a heartbreaking loss for the Herd as they fell to the RailRiders 7-6.

Entering the ninth with a two run lead, Steve Delabar retired the first two batters with ease looking like they could cruise to an Independence day victory. A Carmen Angelini triple started the two out rally. The winning run came to the plate when Jose Pirela took first after being hit by a pitch. Refsnyder crushed a 3-1 pitch over the heart of the plate that soared over Kenny Wilson and just cleared the wall in left to bring the home team to victory.

Buffalo piled together 10 hits against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. With the loss, Buffalo is now 4-6 against the RailRiders. Clutch hits and great pitching from All-Star Liam Hendriks still wasn't enough to top the 6th place International League North team.

Prior to Friday night's game, the Herd was hitless in their last 25 attempts with runners in scoring position. It was a different story on Friday.

The Bisons can thank newcomer Cory Aldridge for getting his troops out to the early lead. In a contest where seven of the thirteen runs were scored in the first three frames, Aldridge was a major contributor to his team's offense.

On June 24th, Toronto signed Aldridge after an impressive start in the Mexican League. In 67 games for Monterrey, Aldridge hit .345 with 11 doubles, 19 home runs and 67 RBI.

In the first, Aldridge was able to get his team into the hitting column with his single to right. After he advanced to second on a Joel De La Cruz wild pitch, Aldridge scored off of a Dan Johnson single to left. Johnson eventually scored himself when Erik Kratz plated him from second off a soft liner to right.

Aldridge went right back to work in the second. After the two-run first inning, Aldridge connected on a fastball along the inside of the plate that soared over the right field wall for a two-run homer to make it a 4-0 Buffalo advantage.

Liam Hendriks showed why he's going to his first Triple-A All-Star game. In his six innings of work, the Australian allowed six hits and fanned eight RailRiders. With the win the righty moves to 7-1 on the season and still leads the IL in WHIP and has the second best ERA.

The two teams resume play tomorrow with Blue Jays top prospect Aaron Sanchez taking the hill against Bruce Billings with first pitch at 7:05pm.

Bisons Notes:
With the win, Buffalo is 5-5 against Scranton this season. The Blue Jays have optioned outfielder Anthony Gose to Buffalo. In 31 games with Buffalo this year, Gose has a .225 average with two homers, 11 RBI and nine stolen bases. Pitcher Luis Ayala has been released by the Blue Jays. The righty was 1-2 with a 5.11 ERA. Cory Aldridge, Kevin Pillar, Erik Kratz and Ryan Schimpf all had tremendous games. Aldridge and Schimpf both went 2-4 with homers. Kratz went 2-5 with an RBI in the first inning. Pillar also had a multi-hit night, going 2-5.
