Happ to pitch for Herd, July 23

Southpaw has been on the disabled list since May 8
July 21, 2013

Toronto Blue Jays LHP J.A. HAPP is scheduled to make his next MLB injury rehabilitation start with the Buffalo Bisons on Tuesday, July 23 against the Columbus Clippers (7:05 p.m.).

Happ has been on the Blue Jays disabled list since May 8 after being hit in the head with a line drive in a start against the Tampa Bay Rays a night before. The southpaw has made a pair of rehab starts already, tossing three innings without allowing an earned run for rookie-level Gulf Coast League Blue Jays on July 13 (4 H, 2 R) and five scoreless innings for Single-A Dunedin on July 18 (3 H, 7 SO).

Happ was 2-2 with a 4.91 ERA in seven starts with the Blue Jays to begin the season. Acquired in a trade with the Astros in 2012, he was a combined 10-11 with a 4.79 ERA in 24 starts between Houston and Toronto last season.
