Infante, Schimpf promoted to the Bisons

Neil Wagner returns after stint with Blue Jays

The Buffalo Bisons today announced that RHP GREGORY INFANTE and INF RYAN SCHIMPF have been promoted to the Herd from Double-A New Hampshire. The Bisons also activated RHP NEIL WAGNER, who was optioned to club from Toronto last night.

To make roster room, INF KEVIN NOLAN has been transferred to New Hampshire. The Blue Jays recalled Bisons RHP CHAD JENKINS on Friday night.

INFANTE, 26, has posted five saves with a 3.38 ERA in eight relief appearances for New Hampshire this season. The righty has allowed just one hit in his last five appearances and has held Eastern League hitters to a .200 average against the season. A free agent signing of the Blue Jays this offseason, Infante split 2013 between Triple-A Albuquerque and Double-A Chattanooga in the Dodgers chain and was a combined 1-1 with a 3.86 ERA in 28 games and 39.2 innings of work (35 H, 38 SO).

SCHIMPF, 26, has hit .322 (19-59) with eight doubles, four home runs and 10 RBI in 17 games for the Fisher Cats. He ranks 2nd in the Eastern League with 12 extra-base hits and 3rd with his .459 on-base percentage and .661 slugging percentage. The Blue Jays 5th round pick in the 2009 draft, Schimpf hit .210 (93-442) with 21 doubles, 23 home runs and 65 RBI in 126 games for New Hampshire in 2013.

WAGNER began the season with the Bisons and posted two saves in two scoreless appearances. He was recalled to Toronto, April 9-25, and posted a 3.12 ERA in nine outings (8.2 IP, 6 H, 6 SO).

JENKINS was 1-1 with a 2.30 ERA and two saves in eight games and one start for the Bisons this season. NOLAN hit .217 (5-23) with a double, a triple and an RBI in seven games with the Bisons.
