The Buffalo Bisons today unveiled the playing schedule for the 142nd season of professional baseball in Buffalo. The 40th year of the Herd’s historic ballpark home, Sahlen Field, will begin with the club’s Home Opener, Tuesday, March 30 against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
For the first time since 2023, the Bisons will begin the season on the road with an Opening Day matchup with the Omaha Storm Chasers on Friday, March 26, 2027 from Werner Field in Nebraska. After a three-game series in Omaha, the Bisons will start the season in Buffalo with a six-game series against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
The team’s full 150-game schedule is highlighted by SEVEN home weekends during the Summer months of June/July/August, compared to the six the club enjoyed during the 2026 season. The Bisons are home for both Mother’s Day (May 9 vs. Syracuse) and Father’s Day (June 20 vs. Toledo) as well as the Independence Day Holiday (July 4 vs. Syracuse).
Game Times and a 2027 Promotional Events Schedule will be announced at a later time.
Rivalries renew as the Bisons have two home series against each of their longstanding rivals; the Rochester Red Wings (Nationals), Syracuse Mets (Mets), Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Phillies), Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (Yankees) and the Worcester Red Sox (Red Sox). The Bisons will also host the Toledo Mud Hens (Tigers), Norfolk Tides (Orioles) and Charlotte Knights (White Sox) in downtown Buffalo over the course of the 2027 season.
