COLUMBIA, SC - Officials from the University of South Carolina and Clemson University today announced the host sites for the neutral-site baseball games for the 2019-2022 seasons. Spirit Communications Park, home of the Columbia Fireflies, will host the games in 2020 and 2022; the 2019 and 2021 games will be played at Fluor Field, home of the Greenville Drive.
"I think this is a great evolution for the best series in America," said South Carolina Head Coach Mark Kingston. "Our state supports this at such a high level and this will allow Columbia to host at beautiful Spirit Communications Park. Greenville does a tremendous job in hosting this event and I know fans of both teams will continue to sell these games out."
"We're obviously excited to have the opportunity to play at such a great ballpark," said Clemson Head Coach Monty Lee. "These games will be a great experience for our respective fan bases, our players and our baseball programs. We're looking forward to bringing this great rivalry to Spirit Communications Park. It's going to be fun."
The days of the week for this annual weekend rivalry series are:

  • 2019 and 2021 - Friday at Clemson, Saturday at Greenville, Sunday at South Carolina
  • 2020 and 2022 - Friday at South Carolina, Saturday at Columbia, Sunday at Clemson

One of the unique aspects of the spirited environment around the rivalry is that each neutral-site venue will continue to allocate the same number of tickets to each school.
"Columbia has tremendous alumni groups for both universities," said Fireflies team President John Katz. "This is a great opportunity to showcase two first class baseball programs in the capital city, and to bring fans of both teams a first-class experience in a neutral, festive environment."
Specific dates and times, along with ticket information for each year's games will be released at a later date.
