Shorebirds Release 2018 Schedule

Includes Home Games On 11 Weekends and the 4th of July

SALISBURY, Md. -- The Delmarva Shorebirds, Class-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, have released their schedule for the 2018 season. The schedule features 70 contests at Arthur W. SALISBURY, Md. -- The Delmarva Shorebirds, Class-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, have released their schedule for the 2018 season. The schedule features 70 contests at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium, including 11 weekend sets, the Fourth of July, and 70 games on the road.
The Shorebirds begin the season at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium on Thursday, April 5th with a seven game homestand that includes a four game series with the Asheville Tourists, affiliate of the Colorado Rockies followed by a three game series with the Hickory Crawdads, affiliate of the Texas Rangers, ending Wednesday, April 11th.
The Lakewood BlueClaws, affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, make their first trip to Arthur W. Perdue Stadium during the second homestand of the season from Thursday, April 19th through Sunday, April 22nd. This kicks off the Shore Series, the season long theme created in 2017. A four game series with the Kannapolis Intimidators, affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, will conclude that homestand Monday, April 23rd through Thursday, April 26th.
The Shorebirds are home for a total of 15 games during the month of May including three weekends. The Greenville Drive, affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, make their only trip to Arthur W. Perdue Stadium for a three game series from Tuesday, May 1st through Thursday, May 3rd. The Augusta GreenJackets also make their only trip to Salisbury for a four game series from Friday, May 4th through Monday, May 7th. The Hagerstown Suns, affiliate of the Washington Nationals, make their first of four trips to Arthur W. Perdue Stadium for a four game series from Thursday, May 17th through Sunday, May 20th. The Lakewood BlueClaws return to continue the Shore Series from Friday, May 25th through Monday, May 28th.
The first half of the season closes out at home with a six game homestand from Tuesday, June 5th through Sunday, June 10th that includes a three game series with the Greensboro Grasshoppers, affiliate of the Miami Marlins, and the Hagerstown Suns.
The All-Star Break is from Tuesday, June 18th through Wednesday, June 20th, which includes the 59th Annual South Atlantic League All-Star game on Tuesday, June 19th in Greensboro, North Carolina. Following the break, the Shorebirds kick off the second half of the season back at home on June 21st, welcoming Kannapolis and Hagerstown each for a three game series.
Independence Day will be celebrated with America's pastime at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium once again, as the Shorebirds host a match up with the Hagerstown Suns on the Fourth of July. The Shorebirds stay home over the weekend to continue the homestand that concludes on Monday, July 9th after a three game series with Hagerstown and a three game series with Hickory. After a road trip to Charleston, SC and West Virginia, the Shorebirds come back to Salisbury for a four game series from Thursday, July 19th through Sunday, July 22nd with the Greensboro Grasshoppers before they close out July and start August with a three game series against Lakewood from Monday, July 30th through Wednesday, August 1st.
The Shorebirds will host the Charleston RiverDogs, affiliate of the New York Yankees, twice during the month of August from Thursday, August 2nd through Sunday, August 5th and once again from Wednesday, August 15th through Friday, August 17th. The Rome Braves, affiliate of the Atlanta Braves will make their only trip to Arthur W. Perdue Stadium for a four game series Saturday, August 18th through Tuesday, August 21st.
During the last homestand of the season, the Shorebirds will host a four game series with the Hickory Crawdads from Monday, August 27th through Thursday, August 30th. The Shorebirds will end the 2018 season on the road against the Lakewood BlueClaws over Labor Day weekend with the final regular season game on Monday, September 3rd.
