About the Delmarva Shorebirds

Since 1997, the Delmarva Shorebirds have been the Class A Minor League Baseball affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles hosting the future generations of talent on their way to Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Located in Salisbury, Md., the Shorebirds call Arthur W. Perdue Stadium home serving as the #1 spot for family entertainment for Delmarva locals and visitors.

The Shorebirds inception was in April of 1996 when the Shorebirds broke into affiliated baseball as a member of the Montreal Expos Minor League System. After one season, a deal was struck to make the Shorebirds an affiliate of the Orioles organization in 1997 and has remained ever since.

A member of the South Atlantic League, the Shorebirds play 140 games each season, 70 at home and 70 on the road. All games are broadcasted live on Fox Sports 960 AM and you can learn more about tickets, promotions, and much more by clicking the tabs on site.

The Delmarva Shorebirds are proud to be one of three teams owned by 7th Inning Stretch, LLC, a Stockton, CA-based baseball ownership group, headed by Tom Volpe. 7th Inning Stretch was founded in 1999 when Volpe purchased the Visalia Oaks. In November of 2006, 7th Inning Stretch purchased the Delmarva Shorebirds. 7th Inning Stretch, LLC also owns the Stockton Ports (A-Affiliate: Oakland Athletics) and the Everett AquaSox (A-Affiliate: Seattle Mariners).

The 'Birds have been crowned SAL champions twice, the first coming in 1997 and the latest in the year 2000. In 2019, the Shorebirds earned the MiLB Team of the Year award from after a 90-win season and a regular-season SAL crown. The 2019 year featured a plethora of future MLB stars with 2019 Orioles #1 overall pick Adley Rutschman, #2 ranked O's prospect Grayson Rodriguez, #16 ranked O's prospect Adam Hall, and many more top prospects.

Over the years, the Shorebirds have welcomed many stars through the friendly confines of Perdue Stadium. Some memorable Shorebirds who have gone on to play in the Major League Baseball include Manny Machado, Zack Britton, Dylan Bundy, John Means, Ryan Mountcastle, Erik Bedard, Brian Roberts, Nick Markakis, Orlando Cabrera, and Javier Vasquez among others.
