Jonathan Aranda and Luke Raley get call up to the Rays

Durham Bulls infielder Jonathan Aranda was called-up by the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday for the first time in his career. Aranda has appeared in 63 games this season for Durham, and is currently tied for the International League lead in hits (75), in addition to fourth in batting average

Durham Bulls infielder Jonathan Aranda was called-up by the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday for the first time in his career.

Aranda has appeared in 63 games this season for Durham, and is currently tied for the International League lead in hits (75), in addition to fourth in batting average (.310), and fifth in runs scored (45) and total bases (124). So far this season, Aranda had a season-long hitting streak of six games 4/19-4/24, recording 11 hits in the span and recorded runs in seven straight contests from 5/5-5/12.

Aranda was signed as a free agent by the Rays in 2015.

Luke Raley is set to return to The Show after being called up on Tuesday also.

Raley has appeared in 24 games this season for the Bulls, and so far this season he has 10 runs on 20 hits, going yard seven times, including five homers in the month of June with a .328 batting average clip. Raley put together a seven-game hitting streak 5/27-6/5 ringing up 10 hits during that stretch and is currently on a five-game hitting streak since 6/15 heading into Tampa with nine hits during the stretch.

Raley was drafted by the Las Angeles Dodgers in 2016, and was acquired by the Rays in 2022 via trade.
