Quick, name every Lansing Lugnut on a Major League Opening Day roster.

Begin with the A's and their seven Nuts in green and gold, outfielders Tyler Soderstrom (2022), Lawrence Butler (2021-2022) and Denzel Clarke (2022); infielders Max Muncy (2022-2023) and Jacob Wilson (2023); and pitchers Luis Morales (2024) and Hogan Harris (2022).

All five position players are in the A's Opening Night lineup.

Mason Miller was also on the 2022 Lugnuts, and now he's the closer for Team USA and the San Diego Padres.

His Team USA teammate, Matthew Boyd (2013), was the Chicago Cubs' Opening Day starter.

How about the Lugnuts' success in producing Major League catchers?

  • Daniel Susac (2023) is making his Major League debut this season for the San Francisco Giants.
  • Drew Millas (2021) has carved out a valuable niche on the Washington Nationals.
  • Alejandro Kirk (2019) is a two-time All-Star for the Toronto Blue Jays.
  • And Gabriel Moreno (2019) bats in the middle of the lineup for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Joining Susac on the Giants: southpaw Ryan Borucki (2016).

Joining Kirk on the defending American League champion Toronto Blue Jays: the dynamic duo of Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. (2017), and... Davis Schneider (2018)?

Bo Bichette (2017) signed with the New York Mets this offseason, putting him in the same division as the Marlins' Griffin Conine (2019) and Otto López (2019) and the Phillies' Tim Mayza (2015).

That's 20 Major League Lugnuts at the dawn of the season, not to mention managers John Schneider (2016, Blue Jays) and Clayton McCullough (2008-2009, Marlins).

And before the season ends, there will be many more to come.
