Reno, Nev. – After taking the series at home against the Tacoma Rainiers, the Reno Aces (19-20) will embark on a two-week road trip, with their first pitstop being in Round Rock to take on the Express (21-17), the Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, in a six-game series beginning on Tuesday, May 14th.

In 2023, the two clubs battled it out, splitting the series with a 6-6 record in 12 intense games. The competition is set to continue this season, with the teams scheduled to face off an additional 12 times. Each club will host a six-game series, promising more thrilling matchups. Round Rock is entering the series with momentum, having won four out of six games against Las Vegas last week.

Round Rock boasts some impressive talent, including RHP Jack Leiter and OF/1B Dustin Harris. These players have been making waves in the league and are definitely ones to watch.

According to MLB Pipeline, Leiter, the #7 overall prospect in the Rangers system, has been great for Round Rock, going 1-1 with a 2.84 ERA in 25.1 innings. The 24-year-old made his MLB debut on April 18th against the Detroit Tigers this season. He struggled, allowing Detroit to score seven runs on eight hits and three walks with three strikeouts through 3.2 innings. After another start for Texas, Leiter left his first MLB-stint carrying a 12.91 ERA and 6:3 K: BB in 7.2 innings. The former first-round pick is back in Round Rock with something to prove as he journeys back to the big-league club.

Harris, the #10 overall prospect and #3 outfielder in Texas' organization, has been exceptional for Round Rock this season, slashing .266/.345/.403 with four home runs, 13 RBI, and nine steals. The 24-year-old was one of five Minor Leaguers to reach 40 extra-base hits, 40 steals, and 80 walks in 2023.

Reno is riding high on their recent success against the Tacoma Rainiers, where they dominated the series by winning four out of six games. The Aces' offense was in top form, showcasing their prowess with a .371/.461/. 577 slash line, 27 extra-base hits (including seven home runs), and 51 RBI.

Andres Chaparro was on a roll against Tacoma, going 11-for-24 (.458) with two home runs and nine RBI. The 25-year-old's blistering hot in May, posting a .452/.558/.786 stat line with eight extra-base hits (three home runs), 15 RBI, and nine walks in 42 at-bats, raising his season batting average from .308 to .340. Look for Chaparro to maintain his momentum against a vulnerable Round Rock pitching staff.

The six-game series begins Tuesday, May 14th, at 5:05 p.m. PT at Dell Diamond.

The Aces will return to Greater Nevada Field on Tuesday, May 28th, to take on the Salt Lake Bess, the Los Angeles Angels' Triple-A affiliate, in a six-game series.
