Beck breaks tie in extras to lift Riders

Robinson scores two runs including game-winner

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (May 22, 2015) - The Frisco RoughRiders plated a run in the eleventh inning against the San Antonio Missions on Friday night to win 4-3. The Riders have won three of four games and are now 4-1 at Wolff Stadium this season.

Drew Robinson led off the top of the 11th with his second hit of the night and advanced to second base on a wild pitch from Dennis O'Grady (0-2). Jake Skole and Luis Mendez worked back-to-back walks to load the bases. With one out, Robinson scored from third on a Preston Beck RBI ground out to give the Riders a 4-3 lead.

David Martinez (1-0) finished off the Missions allowing one hit over the final 2 1/3 innings.

Jorge Alfaro reached base four times and scored a run for the Riders in the first inning when Robinson doubled him home, extending his hitting streak to four games. Luis Mendez added his seventh RBI of the season with a sacrifice fly two batters later to give Frisco a 2-0 lead.

In the top of the third inning, Trever Adams collected his third double since joining Frisco and later scored when Nomar Mazara singled to center. Mazara snapped an 0-for-8 with the knock and has now reached base in 29 of 38 games this season. Joey Gallo added a two-hit game upping his season average to .333.

Jose Leclerc worked five innings for the second time this season earning a no decision. San Antonio scattered six hits for three runs off Leclerc including a two-out, two-run double by Hunter Renfroe in his final inning of work. Renfroe had four hits, improving to 14-for-34 (.412) with 12 RBI against the RoughRiders in 2015.

Frisco had runners on the corners with two outs in the top of the sixth but Michael Dimock fielded Mendez's bunt attempt cleanly and the side was retired. Alfaro was hit by a pitch for the seventh time this season to begin the seventh, but Dimock retired three straight and the Riders were held scoreless. Dimock worked 2 2/3 innings and struck out two.

Victor Payano worked 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief of Leclerc, before Josh McElwee came on for the final out in the bottom of the seventh.

Cody Ege worked a scoreless inning as David Martinez recorded the final seven outs in the ballgame to secure the win in extra innings. The Riders are now 1-3 in extra inning affairs.

The Riders and Missions play game two of the four game set on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. The Riders return to Dr Pepper Ballpark on Tuesday, May 26 to begin a six game home stand against the Springfield Cardinals (St. Louis) and the Tulsa Drillers (Los Angeles-NL).
