CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (June 7, 2023) – The Frisco RoughRiders dominated the Corpus Christi Hooks on Wednesday night, winning 9-0 from Whataburger Field for their second shutout win of the season.

Owen White (2-3) poured in the longest start of the season for any Frisco (24-28) pitcher on the season, tossing seven shutout innings with six strikeouts while only allowing one hit and walking two. Nick Starr and Eudrys Manon then pitched an inning apiece to secure the shutout win, the first for the Riders since April 14th in San Antonio.

On the offensive side, Luisangel Acuña scored on an RBI groundout in the first from Nick Tanielu to make it 1-0.

Frisco added on in the fifth when Thomas Saggese clobbered the first Riders homer of the series, a two-run shot, to make it 3-0. It was Saggese's fifth home run of the season and he is the only player to hit a home run since May 26th, homering twice.

Frisco then added on late, scoring three times in the eighth and ninth innings to cap the blowout win.

Acuña, Saggese, Tanielu and Dustin Harris all totaled multi-hit games in the victory.

Colton Gordon (2-4) was saddled with the loss for Corpus Christi (25-28), going five innings in his start and allowing three runs.

The RoughRiders take on the Hooks for game three of the series on Thursday, June 8th at 6:35 p.m. Frisco sends RHP Nick Krauth (1-2, 4.62) to the mound against RHP Rhett Kouba (4-2, 4.00).
