September 1, 2017

[Empty Body]

Augusta, GA-The GreenJackets found themselves on the winning end of a pitcher's duel Friday night with a 1-0 victory over the Charleston RiverDogs at Lake Olmstead Stadium. The victory extended the GreenJackets winning streak to four in a row and snapped a six-game losing streak in games at the Lake.
With the game scoreless going into the bottom of the fifth, Tyler Brown singled to lead off the inning. He advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Ashford Fulmer. Jean Angomas singled to advance him to third. While Angomas was caught in a rundown trying to steal second, Brown came home to put the GreenJackets on the board. It was the only run scored the entire game for either team.
Raffi Vizcaino was the star of the game contributing six shutout innings in his start for the GreenJackets. He gave up only two hits and struck out three. With the GreenJackets leading 1-0 after six, Melvin Adon came out of the bullpen and tossed a pair of scoreless innings. With one out and nobody on in the seventh, he walked back to back batters to get in a jam with runners on first and second. He settled down and struck out the next two hitters to get out of trouble. Nolan Riggs followed with a scoreless ninth for his third save of the season.
