GreenJackets Play Host to Local High School Teams

Local Talent on Display at Lake Olmstead Stadium in March & April

AUGUSTA, GA- The Augusta GreenJackets have released the 2017 High School Amateur Baseball series presented by Augusta University Health. As Opening Day for the GreenJackets draws near, Lake Olmstead Stadium will be hosting Junior Varsity and Varsity games over the next two months including the following schools: Augusta Prep, Briarwood, Cross Creek, Glasscock, Lincoln County, Saluda, Strom Thurmond and Washington County. 

"Spring is in the air and we look forward to hosting high schools from throughout the CSRA at Lake Olmstead Stadium to showcase their talents and raise funds in 2017," stated Tom Denlinger General Manager. "We encourage the CSRA to come out and support the local high schools as they get to experience playing on a professional field & create a night of memories."

The first three games will feature only a Varsity game. The last game will be a JV/Varsity doubleheader.

Game 1:

Saturday, March 11th - Briarwood v. Augusta Prep (7:05PM) Varsity Only

Game 2:

Wednesday, March 15th - Saluda v. Strom Thurmond (6:05PM) Varsity Only

Game 3:

Monday, April 10th- Cross Creek v. Washington County (6:05PM) Varsity Only

Game 4:

Tuesday April 11th - Lincoln County v. Glasscock (4:05PM) Double Header JV/Varsity

Tickets are $10.00 and will be available at the gate for each day of games. Each ticket includes admission into the high school game and a future GreenJackets game selected by the participating school. A portion of the proceeds will also be given back to the high school from which the ticket was purchased.

The GreenJackets will have the first base concession stand open all season serving a new and improved baseball fare menu; including Smithfield hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken tenders, nachos, and Coca-Cola fountain sodas.

The GreenJackets start the 29th consecutive season on professional baseball in Augusta on Thursday, April 13th against the Columbia Fireflies (New York Mets).

The 4th Annual BuzzFest Party at the Lake is slated for Saturday, March 18th.
