The Bowie Baysox edged the Harrisburg Senators 2-1 Thursday night at FNB Field. Carter Kieboom's home run in his Senators debut was not enough as the two teams split the four-game series.

Senators starter Jaron Long threw three hitless innings to open the game before the Baysox scored their only two runs of the game on three hits in the fourth, capped by a two-run double by D'Arby Myers.
The score remained 2-0 Bowie until the sixth when Carter Kieboom, playing in his first Double-A Game, hammered an 0-1 pitch from starter Keegan Akin over the left-field stands to cut the Bowie lead to one.
"You can tell (Kieboom's) got a pretty mature approach. He got a ball that he was looking for and he hammered it," Senators manager Matt LeCroy said. "It's good that he got that first one over with, now he can relax and play."
Senators relievers Dakota Bacus and Jeff Ames combined for three scoreless innings to finish the game.
Long (1-5) took the loss after limiting the Baysox to two runs across six innings while striking out six and walking three. The right-hander threw a Senators season-high 111 pitches.
"We needed the pitching to step up. Long gave us a really good outing. Bacus came in and gave us two really good innings and Ames came in and pitched the last inning," LeCroy said. "That was much needed from all of them"
Akin (7-5) allowed just the one run on the home run through seven innings. Luis Gonzalez shutout the Senators over the final two innings to notch his sixth save and seal the 2-1 Bowie victory.
The Senators embark on an eight game road trip, beginning with a three-game series against the Akron RubberDucks which starts Friday night. The Senators send starter Kyle McGowin to the mound opposite 'Duck starter Sean Brady. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at Canal Park. The games can be heard on CBS Sports Harrisburg 96.5 & 95.3 FM and 1400 AM or at www.cbssportsharrisburg.com beginning at 6:50 p.m.
