Senators' LeCroy Named Bench Coach For SiriusXM Futures Game

Major League Baseball announced that Harrisburg Senators manager Matt LeCroy has been named the bench coach for Team USA in the 2018 SiriusXM Futures Game. LeCroy joins a staff managed by his former Twins teammate and five-time All-Star outfielder Torii Hunter. 

LeCroy is the all-time winningest manager in Senators history with a record of 322-330 in five seasons with the team. He was also the bullpen coach for the Washington Nationals in 2014 and 2015. Prior to joining the Senators, he was manager of the Potomac Nationals in 2011 and the Hagerstown Suns from 2009-2010. The 42-year-old played eight seasons in the Major Leagues from 2000-2007 with the Twins and Nationals, accumulating a career batting average of .260 with 60 home runs and 218 RBI. 
LeCroy will coach a USA team that includes Senators INF and Nationals' number two prospect Carter Kieboom. The Team USA staff also features Nationals Roving Baserunning Coach Gary Thurman who will serve as first base coach and Nationals Minor League/Rehab Coordinator Jon Kotredes who will serve as trainer. 
The 2018 Sirius XM All-Star Futures Game will be played at 4:00 p.m. (ET) on Sunday, July 15 at Nationals Park in Washington D.C. The game, which is now in its 20th year, features the top Minor League prospects competing in a nine-inning contest as part of All-Star Sunday. 
The Senators box office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available via telephone during the same hours as the box office hours.
